West Marine / Bob’s Stores

West Marine, a boater’s dream store, occupies approximately 12,500 square feet in a West Islip shopping center that we had previously built. West Marine is expanding into part of what is now Bob’s Department Store, creating a new 25,000 square foot super store. Bob’s Department Store will be demised into a smaller store in order to make this happen.

One of the challenges is that the tenant requires a higher roof/ceiling. We will be building a new roof above the existing one, and then removing the old roof. This method is being utilized in an attempt to minimize disruption to the current tenants.

Once both store spaces are built, we will totally renovate both Bob’s and West Marine, giving them a fresh new look. As part of this project, we will be creating a new façade, storefront and footprint change.
